Recently  Mathew Green and Sean Allen got a few of their mates together and went hard core on the fields.

Mathew led the yellow team which included his older Brother and his father while Sean led the black team. With the exception of two ring ins (Kris & Lincoln) the entire yellow team had never played paintball before.

The first two games were played on the speedball field, with the first game being over in four minutes and was won by the yellow team as was the second game, however the black team ended up winning the third.

Both teams were pretty well evenly matched throughout the afternoon with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Paintball is the fastest action packed adventure sport in the world., a combination of childhood "cops & robbers"," cowboys & Indians", and "hide & seek", Paintball is much more sophisticated and certainly more challenging. It is a sport where a SHOOTERS LICENSE IS NOT REQUIRED and women stand on an equal footing with men. Physical attributes do not create good players, but quick thinking, luck, daring and teamwork do.

Rum City Paintball Club Inc was started back in August 1993 and n February 1994 the club became incorporated. The clubs original fields were on loan to us by a local farmer at Bucca.

On the 8th of May 2002,members of the Sporting Shooters Association Of Australia (Bundaberg Branch) who were present at a monthly meeting voted unanimously that Paintball be accepted as a discipline of the SSAA Bundaberg Branch).

When & Where

We currently have two fields operating (a bush field and a speedball field) and they are in the section of Forestry off the Isis Highway on the way to Logging Creek, (take the first turn to the left, which is signed "shooting range" just past the Forestry Tower).

We operate mainly on weekends with only one session per day, but will do week day games during school holidays if required.

Paintball Markers (guns) are classed as a category "A" firearm and you must have a firearms license to own one, anyone wishing to attend a firearms course to enable them to obtain a license can contact the SSAA.

SAFETY: All games are supervised and controlled by fully trained Referee's. The priority for our Referee's is safety and to do that effectively there is NO compromise on rules or standards.

Approved safety goggles must be worn correctly at all times on the field. Goggles can only be taken off under Referee's supervision or in approved safety zones. This would have to be the most important rule. Referee's will be watching at all times.( lets keep your eye sight ).

A PAINTBALL: A paintball is a round, thin skinned, dye-filled gelatine capsule. The paintball is filled with non-toxic, water soluble, non-caustic, bio-degradable vegetable dye that comes in a wide variety of colours. When a paintball hits a player, the thin gelatine skin breaks open and the liquid inside leaves a "splat mark" on the players clothes, signifying his or her "elimination".
