30th August

With 6 Coral Isle cycling members participating in Cycle Queensland's Bundaberg to Brisbane bike ride starting on sat 30th August and finishing 9 days later on the 7th September a good field of riders raced over the 40 kilometre Foleys Rd course.

The rolling hills of this course proved to be much easier then the previous weeks racing however the open cane fields provide little protection from the strong winds present on this circuit. With all riders coming together within the last few kilometres it came down to a bunch sprint with Martin Bannister claiming 1st over John Hampson and Guy McNicol 3rd.

The Coral Isle Cycling club wishes Martin Bannister all the best when he competes in the Australian Junior Road Cycling Championships held in Canberra on the 5/6/7 September With the arrival of a new carbon cervelo a week ago the challenge ahead will be made a little easier.

Next weeks racing on 6th September will be at South Kolan starting at 2:30pm. Nominations taken from 2pm-$5.
