Brock Cooper - Cold Rock Star
Rides.& Races

Brock Cooper

Brock Cooper is 12 years old and started riding about a year ago. He has an Avanti Giro Road bike which he got for Christmas last year, and he began track (velodrome) riding this year.

He started cycling because he has juvenile Arthritis and cycling helps as it is a no impact sport and keeps his joints moving. He does prefer road riding over track cycling as it is longer which means he can ride for longer, and he performs better over the longer distances as well.

Brock competes at Crit racing on Saturdays and trains on the velodrome on Monday afternoon and races at the velodrome on Wednesdays.

Brock is also  keen on soccer and plays for Brothers Aston Villa.

Saturday afternoon at the crit track saw a record number of riders - twenty six in total. Large groups of riders proved racing to be steady and fast. Good to see a few more women racing well together which proved fruitful at the finish for Holly Myers who crossed the line ahead of Rob Bainbridge – thanks Rob for looking after the girls.

Sarah McNicol came in third ahead of Kristina Bannister. Important reminders 1. AGM Thursday 12th March at 7pm start. 2. Club sausage sizzle – Saturday 15th March at Bunnings. 3. Gayndah ride 29th and 30th March – could members please bring their balance of money owing to the meeting.

Numbers needed for the breakfast on Sunday morning.
